ClaimCheckUK exists to improve the information environment for consumers navigating the UK claimant law firm market. The UK group litigation and consumer redress sector has grown dramatically — driven by the motor finance commission scandal, the Pan-NOx diesel mega-trial (1.6 million claimants), cavity wall insulation failures, housing disrepair claims under Awaab's Law, a wave of GDPR data breach actions, and the emerging UK talc litigation against Johnson and Johnson. Millions of UK consumers now face a consequential decision: which firm to trust with their claim. That decision is currently made in a near-total information vacuum. ClaimCheckUK is our attempt to change that.
The UK claimant legal market suffers from structural information asymmetry. Law firms know their complaint rates, regulatory history, financial stability, and review solicitation practices. Consumers do not. The consequences are documented: SSB Law collapsed in 2024 with 25,000 active clients abandoned; Pure Legal Group left 28,000 clients exposed in 2021; the Legal Services Board publicly censured the SRA for failing to act on observable warning signs in both cases. ClaimCheckUK aggregates the publicly available signals that give consumers a materially better basis for choice.
Consumer class actions and group litigation represent one of the most consequential and least transparent areas of the UK legal market. A consumer instructing a firm in the motor finance redress scheme, diesel emissions litigation, or a data breach action is making a commitment lasting 5-8 years affecting potentially thousands of pounds in compensation. Yet the market is characterised by aggressive CMC-style marketing, opaque fee structures, and review profiles that are difficult to interpret without specialist knowledge. The addition of a Claim Connectors section reflects that the intermediary layer between consumers and law firms is itself a significant source of consumer harm — evidenced by ASA upheld rulings against Join the Claim and KP Law in September 2025.
ClaimCheckUK is free to access and carries no advertising, sponsored placements, or referral fees from any law firm or claims management company. We do not rank firms — we surface information and let consumers decide. We believe a better-informed UK consumer market for claimant legal services is better for everyone.
ClaimCheckUK is not a law firm, claims management company, or regulated adviser. We do not recommend specific firms, accept claims, or receive any commercial benefit from consumer decisions. Nothing on this site should be used as a substitute for independent legal advice. Our data is aggregated from public sources in good faith and may not reflect the most current position — consumers should always verify regulatory status directly with the SRA, FCA, and Legal Ombudsman before instructing.
